A faith step is an opportunity to be introduced to certain faith practices that have been identified by Christ Church as being important in helping kids and students grow in their relationship with Jesus.
The timing of faith steps is guided by development stages such as talking and reading, but steps can also be taken at older ages or in a different order. Read on to learn more and to sign up for your family’s next faith steps.
At Christ Church, we believe in the importance of baptism for infants, children, and adults. We encourage families to have their children baptized in infancy, but if your kids have not yet been baptized we invite you to do so at any age.
This preschool faith step event will introduce 3 to 5-year-olds and their families to the many ways we can pray through interactive prayer stations and activities. Each kid will take home a Prayer Buddy plush and parents will be provided with resources to help weave prayer into their family’s daily life.
Receiving and exploring a full-version Bible as soon as they can read is a faith step for elementary kids at Christ Church. In addition to receiving a Bible, participants will begin to understand the history, purpose, and structure of this amazing book during the Bible family faith event each fall.

Before participating in communion at Christ Church, a faith step for upper elementary and middle schoolers is to complete a Communion Class in the fall, winter, or spring. This one-day hands-on experience teaches about the sacrament at Christ Church and prepares students for their First Communion.
Our two-year, appointment-based confirmation program starts at 7th grade or above and typically happens during middle and/or high school. We believe in a one-on-one or small group approach to confirmation in order to better cultivate personal relationships and focus on individualized teaching during this formational season of life.
